The North Oakland Baseball
Federation (NOBF) was established in 1983 as an elite league for
student athletes between the ages of 8 to 18. Its goal is to
provide these athletes the best possible opportunities to
continue to excel at higher competitive levels, whether high
school, college or beyond.
The NOBF is an active and highly regarded member of the American
Amateur Baseball congress (AABC), and regularly hosts numerous
AABC regional and national tournaments at their request.
In 2002, over 75 teams and more
than 750 players from Oakland, Macomb, Lapeer and Genesee
counties participated in the league’s May to July regular
season. Many teams earned state and national recognition in AABC
as well as other major governing organizations.
On the community level, NOBF donates considerable time and funds
to the improvement and long-term development of fields and
facilities in North Oakland County and surrounding regions.
As a major source of high school talent in the region, NOBF
recognizes and supports not only athletic excellence, but
academic as well. The NOBF Scholarship Program awards four
college scholarships each year to qualified current or former
NOBF student athletes who have excelled academically.
In 2002, approximately 40 former NOBF players were on college
team rosters, and five in the professional ranks.
